Many companies add updates and new security patches on a weekly and monthly basis. For some people, it may seem like a tedious and unnecessary task to constantly update but it is one of the single most important ways that you can keep yourself safe online.

In the case of being safe and secure when downloading or installing new software, it is ultimately the responsibility of the user to protect him or herself. You can find a variety of articles, tips and suggestions on how to keep yourself safe online but those will not be very effective if you do not put them to use.
